Finding the Right Groomer

Finding the right groomer for your dog is more than just someone who gives a good haircut.  Your groomer should be the whole package.  They should care about your dog's well being mentally, physically and spiritually.  They should be educated, skilled and responsible.   They should practice safe handling skills and keep the highest standards of sanitation possible.  They should be proud to show you all of their grooming facility and you should know who is handling your dog and where they are being kept.  Remember, the dog grooming industry is not regulated (yet).  

Your groomer should be checking your dog out from head to toe and making you aware of any skin problems, ear infections, growths, hot-spots and other abnormalities they see.  Bottom line is, they should take the extra time and really care about your dog.  They should possess the knowledge and want to take the time to help educate you about proper nutrition and basic care and particular breed concerns that you may not be aware of, and you should take the extra time to find out about your groomer, just as you would check out a pre-school for your child.

It is very important to make sure that the groomer you choose for your dog has been educated at a credible, certified school with hundreds of hours of hands on experience and not only in grooming techniques, but also saftey, kennel management, canine anatomy, sanitation, proper equipment use, canine heatlh issues, dog handling, business relations and much more. 

Lauren attended one of the top dog grooming schools in the country,  The California School of Dog Grooming,  for 608 hours and graduated in the prestigious Director's Circle.  Many factors are needed for this, but mainly it means she had a 95% or better on all written and practical exams.  She drove 5-6 hours round trip, 4 days a week for five months to complete the program, that's dedecation, passion and commitment!  All of which have been carried over into her business.

Lauren is an avid reader on all topics relating to dogs and their well being.  She is also currently working toward attaining her National Certified Master Groomer certification through the NDGAA.

Club Doggie is licensed and insured. 

Club Doggie does not use cage dryers.
